Be careful – if you’re hosting the blog from a subdirectory (as I do with mine) then siteurl will be “http://DOMAIN.TLD/SUBDIR”.

For example, http://sickbiscuit.com/blog

I usually just update these options by hand when I need to, which isn’t all that often.

I’ve never had to fully restore a site from backups following a failure, thankfully! I’ve done some disaster recovery testing with some of the web services I used to work with but never my own apps, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts? A wee blog post perhaps?

I use pretty much the same approach to back up the databases, code repositories, web content, email and so on from my own servers, following my own brush with catastrophic data loss! It's worked well so far ... but the true test of backups is can you restore?

I work from 8 to 5 currently, Eight hours a day is fairly standard and you are merely highlighting the fact that you have had a cushy work-life thus far. I suggest you desist in highlighting this fact unless you wish to increase the rate at which you are referred to as a “ponce” in future.

I expect to see you all behind the country at KFC this time next year, spitting in my Xmas Cranberry and stuffing Zinger Wrap for my blatant schadenfreude.
