Don't get me started! It really is a lifestyle thing as you say Phil, which a lot of people seem to miss. I find it a constant source of bemusement to hear the girls in our office ask things like "is that fattening?" and then watch them pretend to be "on a diet." I've never thought of chocolate as a "diet food" before!

I must climb down from my ivory tower and do something useful...

I remember when I lived on the Lisburn Road I bought a 3 month gym pass and started going 3-4 days a week for 3 weeks and then I moved 1/2 mile down the road and stopped going. It was as if the extra 1/2 mile walk was excercise enough without the cardio. Such a waste of money.

I do have a motto though which is that if I ever cannot fit into a size 34 jean it's time for diet. Until then, it's walk to and from work and not eating crap. That's really the key that a lot of people don't get - they don't realise what rubbish they eat.

"Busy" people use the excuse that they don't have the time to cook which is utter nonsense and they sit down to turkey twizzlers every night. It doesn't take 30 minutes to make lean cuisine every night with minimal effort and cost.

No excuses! :)
